Quick tartare sauce

    This easy tartare sauce made with half yoghurt half mayonnaise is perfect and easy to serve with any grilled or fried fish.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 spring onion
    • 150ml plain low-fat yoghurt
    • 150ml mayonnaise
    • 3 tbsp snipped fresh chives
    • 2 tbsp chopped capers
    • 1 chopped small gherkin

    1. Finely slice 1 spring onion and mix into 150ml plain low-fat yoghurt and 150ml mayonnaise. Add 3 tbsp snipped fresh chives, 2 tbsp chopped capers and 1 chopped small gherkin. Stir to combine.

    …serve with

    *Grilled sole, salmon or hake.
    *Fishcakes, battered fish or fish fingers.
    *Fried breadcrumb-coated fish fillets, goujons, battered prawns or calamari.

    Quick and tasty just as it says. If there is a down side the quantity is on the generous side so currently experimenting to reduce the end amount, but love it!  -  17 Mar 2014
