Spiced orange with pomegranate

    This up-to-date gourmet fruit salad is spiced with nutmeg, grenadine and mint.

    Serves: 4 

    • 6 seedless oranges
    • freshly grated nutmeg
    • pomegranate
    • 1 tbsp grenadine cordial
    • mint leaves

    1. Slice the tops and bottoms off 6 seedless oranges. Using a sharp knife, cut off the peel and pith in one go, in wide strips down the side of the oranges. Slice the oranges and arrange on four plates. Sprinkle with a little freshly grated nutmeg.
    2. Cut a pomegranate into quarters. Remove the seeds with your fingers, over a bowl, discarding the membranes, peel and pith. Sprinkle the seeds over the oranges.
    3. Drizzle 1 tbsp grenadine cordial over the top of each serving (optional). Finely shred a few mint leaves, if you like, and sprinkle them over the salads.
