About this recipe: The best chocolate biscuits you will ever try!

Serves: 16 

  • 200g self raising flour
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 250g soft unsalted butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • (plus 2 greased baking sheets)

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Preheat oven to 170C/Gas mark 3.
  2. Sieve flour and cocoa. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together.
  4. Work the flour and cocoa into the butter mixture to form a soft dough.
  5. Roll into walnut sized balls and arrange on the baking sheet with a decent space between each. Press each ball down with the back of a fork.
  6. Put the sheets into the oven for 5 mins.
  7. Turn down to 150C/Gas mark 2 and bake for a further 10-15mins.
  8. They should feel firm on top and will continue to harden as they cook.
  9. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.

Altered ingredient amounts. Take out the cocoa powder and replace with 50g flour ... up the sugar to 200g and add a splash of vanilla ...... perfect :-) - 24 Apr 2011

Probably the coco I used but was a little bitter for my taste but sooooo easy to make and the texture was amazing ...... - 24 Apr 2011
