About this recipe: A real treat from the good old WRI! This is possibly the world's easiest recipe but produces a result that is definitely not one for the faint-hearted! This recipe uses cocoa powder but for a less rich version you can replace it with drinking chocolate powder. The more you use, the more intense the chocolatey flavour!

  1. Preheat oven to 190C, 375F.
  2. Sift flour, sugar and cocoa powder together.
  3. Add milk but do not stir. Add melted butter then stir together thoroughly .
  4. Pour mixture into a greased ovenproof bowl/pudding basin.
  5. Place muscovado sugar into a measuring jug and add the cocoa powder.
  6. Pour on boiling water till level reaches approximately the half-pint mark (can make it wetter if required but these measurements make the sauce nice and thick). Stir thoroughly to ensure solids are completely broken up.
  7. Pour sauce over sponge mixture but DO NOT STIR!
  8. Place dish into oven and leave for approximately 20-25 mins, or until top is crispy.
  9. Must be served immediately but beware as sauce is literally boiling!
  10. Amazing served on its own or with either cream or ice cream.
  11. Enjoy!!
