    About this recipe: I'm 1 of 9 children and money was tight. My mum used to make this; it's cheap quick and easy and my own kids love it now.

    Serves: 8 

    • 8 sausages
    • 1 tin baked beans
    • 1 tin kidney beans
    • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
    • 1 onion
    • 1 stock cube
    • about 1/2 pint of water
    • 1 teaspoon of mixed herbs
    • 1 teaspoon of mustard
    • 1 teaspoon of tomato puree
    • 4 cups of rice

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Cut the sausages in half and put them in a stock pot or large sauce pan.
    2. Add all the other ingredients except the rice and put on the hob in a separate pan.
    3. Partially cook the rice, drain it then add it to the big pan. Stir in and let it cook.
