    About this recipe: A favourite of mine and my family this dish is delicious served with mashed potatoes.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 2 large pork chops
    • 1 green pepper, diced
    • 5 mushrooms, sliced
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 500ml pork stock
    • black pepper to season
    • 2 teaspoons cornflour

    Method
    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:2hr  ›  Ready in:2hr30min 

    1. Preheat oven to 150 C.
    2. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and add the chops. Fry with a little black pepper until browned. Transfer to an ovenproof dish.
    3. Fry vegetables til softened; pour over the pork. Add the pork stock and veg mixture to the dish and place in the oven for 2 hours.
    4. Approx 30 mins before serving add the cornflour and stir well to thicken the sauce.

    I cooked pork leg steaks for 1 hour only at 180 deg instead and so didn't need so much stock - only a couple of tbsp of water as the mushrooms and pork produced enough juice as they were cooking. Lovely combination of flavours. Would do again thanks - 19 Jan 2016
