Baked Bananas with Chocolate and Ice Cream

    My friend served this at a dinner party and it went down extremely well.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 large bananas, 160g each weighed including skins
    • 20g white fair trade chocolate
    • 20g milk fair trade chocolate
    • 80ml maple syrup
    • 80g ice cream (honey comb or Häagen-Dazs dulce de leche)

    1. Preheat oven to 160 C / Gas 3. Slice the bananas down the middle but don't cut right through.
    2. Put bananas in an oven dish, the cut side up and bake until slightly turning brown (10-12 minutes).
    3. Remove from oven and divide the chocolate evenly into the bananas where they have been cut. Place back in oven until the chocolate has melted.
    4. Place each banana on a plate and drizzle with maple syrup and a scoop of ice cream.
