Irish steaks

    These are delicious steaks good with potatoes vegetables and Irish soda bread. Perfect for a dinner party or Friday night in!

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons oil
    • 2 ounces butter
    • 1 onion peeled and chopped
    • 4 steak fillets
    • 1 clove garlic
    • salt to taste
    • pepper to taste
    • 4 tablespoons Jameson's Whiskey
    • 2 tablespoons chopped flat parsely

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Heat oil and butter in frying pan. Add onion and saute till lightly brown.
    2. Rub steaks well with cut surface of garlic.
    3. Fry steaks for 2 to 4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
    4. Pour on Jameson's Whiskey (flambe if desired).
    5. Add parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Turn steaks and spoon juices over.
    6. Remove from pan and serve.

    We loved this! I had honey whiskey on hand, so that is what I used. I also used a sprinkle of garlic powder and a few dashes of worcestershire sauce. It was a great flavor! My almost 7 year old son said, "The steak and onions came together sooo good, it made me feel so good, Mom!" LOL Will definitely make again! Paired it with Irish Champ from this site, it was all yummy!  -  01 Apr 2012
