Bonanza Pie

    25 min

I'm a very, VERY basic eater and I don't do veg (except for the mighty potato) and spices are usually out of the window too. Bonanza Pie is just a nice way to jumble what I like into one dish. Those who have tried it have all reported back positively.

    Serves: 1

    • 4 fish fingers (in breadcrumbs, not batter)
    • 5 sausages
    • 3 or 4 medium sized potatoes
    • Gravy (I use Bisto)
    • Butter or cream for mash
    • A Pyrex type dish

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min

    1. Grill the fish fingers.
    2. At the same time grill the sausages.
    3. Boil the potatoes in preparation for mash
    4. Add butter (or cream) to potatoes and mash to smooth consistency.
    5. Cut the fish fingers and sausages into bite sized pieces and arrange in the bottom of the dish.
    6. Top up (actually just enough to cover the fish fingers and sausages) with gravy.
    7. Pipe or spoon the mash on top of the rest.
    8. Pop under the grill to crisp up the mash.
    9. Serve.

Used different ingredients. My kids love this one. We put in a tin of beans so the fish and sausages sit in the beans with the mash on top. We call it fish and finger pie!  -  02 May 2010
