Used more apples than recipe said, some chopped in mix plus layer on bottom. Also made with Gluten free flour. What a result, delicious! Will be making again. - 30 Sep 2011

Used different ingredients. cooking apples instead of the royal gala's stops them from disintegrating and their sharper taste contrasts with the cake - 08 Sep 2010

This has to be one of my best sponge cake recipes I have ever done it was so yummy too definately recommend this one I also followed a tip to chop the apple and put in the mixture rather than slicing the apple and placing at the bottom definately think it worked well, have I got time to finish it off before the kids come home from school LOL - 12 Sep 2011
