Gill's Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Casserole

About this recipe: This is a recipe passed on from my late mother-in-law. My husband enjoys any leftovers on a sandwhich the next day.

Serves: 4 

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 punnet (250g) button mushrooms
  • 1 tin chicken or mushroom soup
  • 250ml double cream

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:1hr  ›  Ready in:1hr10min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 C / gas mark 4.
  2. Dice chicken breasts and place into a casserole. Pour over the tin of soup, stir in the mushrooms (either whole or chopped). Place in the oven for 1hr. After 45 mins pour in the cream and turn the oven off. Serve with fluffy rice and green beans.

Used different ingredients. I fried the chicken first with some garlic. Also I used condensed soup and only added half the cream. - 24 Jun 2009


I very rarely have all the ingredients for any recipe that i look up, but fortunately i did this time, i cooked this for me, my daughter and her friend, and added garlic. It was delicious, thankyou!! - 21 Aug 2012
