About this recipe: A spicy bread, made in the bread machine, with lots of herbs and loads of flavour, based on the famous Argentine sauce. This is a great bread for sandwiches made with cured ham, or for the ultimate cheese toastie.

Serves: 15 

  • 225ml (8 fl oz) water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons chopped red onion
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 3 tablespoons wheat bran, such as Jordans
  • 410g (14 oz) bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons dried active baking yeast

  1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Basic or White Cycle; press Start.

Altered ingredient amounts. I only used a teaspoon of sugar and made it into a loaf that I baked at gas 7 - 16 Feb 2010


This bread is great, would love to say that it was good with soup or sandwiches but my family just ate it before it even got to the plate!! - 01 Feb 2010


Lovely used as a alternative to garlic bread. cooked cheese on top and served with spag bol!!! Highly recommend! - 19 Mar 2010
