Perfect golden rice crispy cakes

    These are delicious and simple to make rice crispy cakes. quick and simple to make these are an ideal snack in general or for parties. Ideal for school bake/cake sales. you can also corn flakes. Warm the tablespoon over a flame or dip in boiling water so the golden syrup slips off easily, repeat between each spoonful.

    Serves: 24 

    • 3oz rice cripsies or corn flakes (90g)
    • 4 Tbsp Golden syrup (80g)
    • 1 Tbsp sugar (15g)
    • 1 Tbsp margarine (15g)

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Put 24 cake cases in 2 tins. Melt the margarine over a low heat in a saucepan. Add the golden syrup. Add the sugar. Remove from the heat. Add in the rice crispies or corn flakes.
    2. Divide equally in the 24 cases. Leave in fridge to set.

    I made this recipe today but the crispie cakes didn't stick together...... not sure where I went wrong but I will try again as they tasted delicious!!  -  23 Nov 2011
