Saucy chocolate pudding

    I was new to those recipes where you separate the eggs. This recipe is the second I have which bakes firm on top but saucy underneath. Please cook and find out yourself.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 2 eggs, separated
    • 1 tablespoon plain flour
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
    • 250ml milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1. Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and beat well. Add flour sifted with cocoa, then add milk and vanilla, mixing slowly at first. Lastly fold in the stiffly-beaten egg whites. Pour into a flame-proof dish and stand in a baking dish of hot water. Bake in a oven preheated to 180 C / Gas 4 till top is firm to the touch. The bottom will have the texture of a creamy sauce.
