    About this recipe: The much-loved Indian lassi is actually most often savoury, not sweet. This salty lassi is flavoured with the traditional cumin for a tasty and refreshing drink.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons cumin seeds, or to taste
    • 2 scoops ice cubes
    • 250ml skimmed milk
    • 700g fat free natural yoghurt
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

    1. Toast the cumin seeds in a small frying pan over medium heat until they appear to be black and charred, about 8 minutes. Allow to cool to room temp; grind into a fine powder.
    2. Blend the ice, milk, yoghurt, salt and ground cumin together in a blender on high speed until smooth.


    You may want to add just half of the ground cumin to the blender, then taste and add more cumin as desired.
