I must admit I was a little dubious at first about the length of time it takes to make this, because it seemed so quick, but I'd bought reduced steak and Kidney which needed to be cooked and I didn't have much time, so I went with it. Well, I needn't have worried! I don't think I'll ever make steak and kidney pie the old way again! It was delicious and quick and the children loved it!! I was hesitant about making this as I wasn't sure about boiling the meat, but I gave it a go and OMG! It was the best pie I have made. I didn't add the veg as we prefer them steamed and as i had no fresh herbs to hand I added mixed dried herbs and plenty of freshly ground black pepper and sea salt.. I simmered it for slightly longer once I had added lots of gravy granules to make a rich thick gravy. It was heaven..! Made my own short crust party then realiased I'd forgotten to do potatoes so ended up having chips..! What a delicious tea, loved by the family.....thank you so much for this receipe. 😃 - 27 Nov 2014
