    About this recipe: A favourite treat, very popular with my kids, hope it's just as popular with yours.

    Serves: 15 

    • 400g caster sugar
    • 350ml water
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 175g golden syrup
    • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 250g popped popcorn

    1. Butter the sides of a large saucepan. In the saucepan combine the sugar, water, salt, golden syrup and vinegar. Cook over medium heat to the hard ball stage (120 degrees C). Stir in the vanilla and slowly pour the hot mixture over the popped popcorn, stirring just to mix well.
    2. Butter hands lightly and shape into balls. Mixture will be hot so be careful. Place balls on greaseproof paper to cool.
