Simple caramel sauce

    One day I was wondering how that sticky caramel stuff you can find in chocolate bars like Mars and Twix is made. With sugar, of course, and, why, let's add some cream. Though this recipe is quite simple - it only takes equal amounts of sugar and cream - it can be quite difficult to make this caramel sauce. It may take some practice to make caramel. I've made this sauce twice now, and it's been a great success.

    • 200ml caster sugar
    • 200ml cream

    1. Heat the sugar in a saucepan. Let it caramelise.
    2. When the sugar has caramelised enough, add the cream and stir with a whisk. Stay stirring until the caramel has completely dissolved into the cream.
    3. Use the sauce hot or let it cool down. Delicious on ice cream or any dessert you like to pour it over.
