Fragrant pears in red wine


    With good cooking pears, this recipe is always a success. A delicious way to end a special dinner!

    • 6 firm pears, peeled but kept whole with stems on
    • 200g sugar
    • 100ml red wine
    • 1 vanilla bean
    • 1 stick cinnamon

    1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan, arranging the pears to sit upright. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the pears. Serve the pears warm or cold, drizzled with the syrup from cooking.
