Ham & Stilton Pasta Bake

Ham & Stilton Pasta Bake

4 people made this

About this recipe: I made this to use up some leftover ham & Stilton after Christmas. Very simple & tasty

wellyboots Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK

Serves: 4

  • 2 handfuls Ham, cubed
  • Cooked pasta (however much you would normally use for 4 people)
  • 1 small portion (I used approx 150g) Blue Stilton, crumbled or cubed
  • 30ml Double Cream
  • 30ml milk
  • Large Knob butter
  • 150g Strong cheddar cheese - grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dried Chilli flakes
  • a few drops Tabasco Sauce

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min

  1. Cook the pasta according to pack instructions & drain
  2. Return drained pasta to the warm pan & add the cream, milk & butter stir to coat the pasta, over a moderate heat
  3. After the butter has melted, add the Ham, Stilton, Chilli & tabasco and stir to combine thoroughly
  4. Transfer to a casserole dish (or leave in the pan if its ovenproof)
  5. Top with grated cheddar cheese
  6. Place in a pre-heated oven (approx 200 degrees C) for approx 15 minutes, or until top is lightly brown & bubbly
  7. Serve immediately with crusty bread or green salad

All quantities are approximate - I tend to deal in 'handfuls' and 'glugs' rather than weights and measures! I didn't season this dish, as I was using some quite salty Gammon ham.

Made it last night for my husband and me, I put in a lot of stilton as we like it and forgot to put in the milk xD. We really loved it and will make it again - 08 Sep 2015

Easy to adapt to make for two people. Didn't have a noticeable taste of Stilton when eaten, which was a plus for my OH! Enjoyed this - 30 Dec 2011
