    About this recipe: First, pieces of banana are sprinkled with lemon juice and rolled in brown sugar and cinnamon. Then they're cooked quickly and carefully on the barbecue. Serve with vanilla ice cream. You can also do it in a frying pan with melted butter.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 4 bananas
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 175g (6 oz) dark brown soft sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • vanilla ice cream, to serve

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:6min  ›  Ready in:16min 

    1. Preheat barbecue for low heat.
    2. Halve each of the bananas lengthwise, then widthwise. Sprinkle bananas with lemon juice. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll banana pieces in sugar/cinnamon mixture until well coated.
    3. Lightly oil the barbecue's cooking grate. Arrange bananas on grate, and cook for 3 minutes per side. Serve in a bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a sprinkling of remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture.

    Nice one Charlie. Good pic Godiva Girl. Easy peasy , all the family loved it. Use brown caster sugar if you havent got demerara or soft dark brown. probalby works well with maple syrup too  -  01 Jul 2015
