    About this recipe: The chocolate cake my grandma has made since my cousins, siblings and I were tiny. We all think it is the best choc cake ever made, however, we have all tried making it since and it hasn't come out as good, still perfectly edible, just not perfect.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 16 

    • 110g (4 oz) butter
    • 140g (5 oz) sugar
    • 170g (6 oz) self-raising flour
    • 2 tablespoons drinking chocolate
    • 2 eggs
    • 3 tablespoons boiling water

    Method
    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:55min 

    1. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour and drinking chocolate. Mix until soft. Add water and mix. Bake in the centre of oven at 180 C / Gas 4 till the cake tests done.

    Tip

    To keep it as close to the original recipe, use: Vitalite butter Tesco's drinking chocolate

    Tip

    After it has cooled, we add buttercream to the middle and cover it in galaxy chocolate to give it that special something.
