About this recipe: This is a delicious, very complex-tasting cocktail. Kind of like a Sazerac, it’s named after an old restaurant in New Orleans.

Serves: 1

  • ice
  • 1 measure rye whiskey
  • 3/4 measure Benedictine
  • 3/4 measure sweet vermouth
  • 1/8 teaspoon Pernod or absinthe (but Herbsaint if you can find it)
  • several dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • cocktail cherry for garnish
