This is a delicious, very complex-tasting cocktail. Kind of like a Sazerac, it’s named after an old restaurant in New Orleans.

Ingredients
Serves: 1
ice
1 measure rye whiskey
3/4 measure Benedictine
3/4 measure sweet vermouth
1/8 teaspoon Pernod or absinthe (but Herbsaint if you can find it)
several dashes Peychaud’s bitters
cocktail cherry for garnish
Method Prep:3min › Ready in:3min
Fill a cocktail pitcher with ice. Add whiskey, Benedictine, sweet vermouth and Pernod. Shake in bitters. Stir well and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry or a twist of lemon.
