    This favourite Vietnamese dipping sauce goes well with so many things. It doesn't keep well, so make it fresh.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 2-3 tablespoons fish sauce
    • juice of 1 lime (about 3 tablespoons)
    • 1-2 tablespoons water
    • 2-3 tablespoons caster sugar
    • 1-2 red chillies, finely sliced (optional)
    • 1 garlic clove, finely sliced (optional)

    1. Mix all the ingredients well. The sauce should taste balanced, not too sweet, sour or salty.

    he lime juice over powered the dish. The red chili was optional and I didn't have any on hand so I used chili flakes instead. If you cut back on the lime I think this would be delicious but as written it was just okay.  -  25 Jan 2016  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
