Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start.
great recipe. My bread maker has lingered at the back of a cupboard for ages, so thought I'd give this a go. Delicious bread, everyone loved it. I used half amount of sugar, and it was sweet enough. Next time I might add milk or milk powder as suggested in other reviews. Thanks !
I recieved my new breadmaker yesterday and this is the first recipe I have tried. Last night I made it on the 4hr setting on my machine and this morning we woke to a gorgeous smelling, fresh loaf of bread! Just amazing! Then this afternoon I tried the recipe again on the fast bake setting (1hr55) and it came out EVEN BETTER!! :D very very pleased as I was so worried about getting started. Thank you for sharing...its gonna be made alot here!
Perfect, fluffy bread every time with this recipe! Ideal for sandwiches, unlike most heavier home-baked loaves.
Was a bit worried at first, as adding the yeast to sugared water before flour is everything the bread machine booklet tells you not to do - but this recipe is better than any bread from the booklet that came with the machine, by far!
This is the first white bread recipe that hasn't sunk at the end of cooking for me. And it tastes delicious. Any reviews that aren't the same as this one were obviously made wrong and they should give theirselves a bad review, not the recipe
Normally recipes headed 'Best of ....' turn out to be anything but. This recipe is a first, it is the best. One personal change - less sugar, it was a bit sweet.
This is a delicious loaf!! Only my second go at making bread in a new breadmaker and it has turned out perfectly. I'm now going to try increasing the quantities to make a larger loaf as all the family loved it - including my 96yr old Dad who normally moans that nothing tastes as good as it used to. I'm not a fan of homebaked bread as I find it too yeasty tasting but this is lovely, the amount of yeast must be spot on.
Thank you very, very much for the great recipe
this was easy. I had never made homemade bread before, it took 2 attempts but it turned out great!! I changed the amount of salt and sugar but other than that, its perfect!! Thanks
WOW!
Just made this (literally) took it out of my cheap Logik breadmaker and wow!
No more small solid lumps for me,,,,,
Cant wait for it to be cool enough to eat, lovely light soft crumb mmmmmmm
This recipe is wonderful, unlike the very dense, brick -like breads I baked so far. I was so exited by the result, that I finished it by myself on the same day.It took 3 hours from start to end. Thank you!
