Pilaf Rice

    A very tasty substitute for steamed rice.

    Serves: 2 

    • 1/2 Yellow Onion
    • 30g Butter
    • 2 Bayleaves
    • 150g Rice
    • 300ml Vegetable/Chicken Stock

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Pre-heat oven at 175 C (Fan oven)
    2. Dice onion finely in a oven-proof pan
    3. Melt the butter and sweat the onion, do not colour
    4. Add the bayleaf and rice and continue to cook until butter is absorbed
    5. Add the stock and bring to the boil
    6. Cover and place in oven for 15 minutes or until stock has been absorbed and rice is cooked
