From simple roast chicken legs to Tandoori chicken drumsticks - chicken legs and drumsticks are perfect for marinating or using in slow cooked stews and casseroles. For a cheaper alternative, they're meaty and delicious!
This recipe uses chicken legs, but works for part, or indeed a whole chicken. It goes well with roasted potatoes.
Chicken and potatoes are baked in butter with 24 cloves of garlic. Add a little maple syrup at the end for sweetness. Don't worry, the garlic cooks down to a mellow, soft texture that's simply delicious spread over the chicken! Serve with a green salad, broccoli or asparagus.
This is my daughter Molly's favourite chicken dish which I make in a slow cooker. It's very easy to prepare and it tastes great with rice and green veg.
A chicken vindaloo from Goa. It's made with chicken legs which absorb the flavours better but you could use chicken breasts. Cubes of potatoes are deep fried and added to the curry near the end. Serve with hot rice.
Frying the drumsticks seals in all of the juices, and the chilli sauce adds a nice kick. This is such an easy meal, and cheap too! I also use boneless, skinless chicken breast fillets in place of the drumsticks - the breasts take less cooking time. Enjoy!!
