Chickpea and Ham Bone Slow Cooker Soup
Recipe by:
beanbaird
This is a fabulous use of a leftover ham bone. It is cooked with chickpeas in the slow cooker for a very hearty soup. You could add really any vegetables and spices to this soup. I enjoy simpler flavours, so this was wonderful for me! I wouldn't add any salt, however, as ham is already quite salty.

Turkey salad with red cabbage
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
This is a lovely crunchy salad for winter, full of contrasting tastes and tossed with an unusual dressing made from cranberry sauce and walnut oil. Red cabbage makes an interesting base, but does tend to stain the other ingredients, so serve the salad as soon as everything has been mixed together.
