A delightful dessert that combines traditional bread pudding with apples and a crumbly streusel topping. If you want to roll out your own shortcrust pastry, use it to line a 23cm (9 in) baking dish.

This recipe was invented by my sister, who like myself, enjoys a traditional bread and butter pud, but isn't so keen on the dried fruit element. The toffee melts into it, and with the apples, makes a delicious alternative.

This is a common recipe in Malta which is usually done with leftover bread. The exact ingredients vary from family to family! Various fruit and nuts may be added depending on one's taste.

A small and quite firm pudding, with a lovely crisp top, not the soft squidgy texture of your traditional version. Based on a pub lunch pudding I had once.

This easy recipe combines my favourite things in this world -- bread pudding, apples, raisins, vanilla and rum! The sauce thickens atop the bread pudding, providing an attractive and delicious glaze. We never have leftovers!

Cubes of bread and apples are baked with eggs and cinnamon, then served with a sweet, buttery vanilla sauce in this cosy dessert. It is great for using up bread and apples. Enjoy!

We love recipes for two and bread pudding. I am recovering from heart surgery and took a basic recipe for bread pudding and happened to have two Gala apples that needed to be used. I always have light cream cheese and golden raisins. In this case I had saved the crusts from two loaves of McCambridge bread. To say the least, I made this this evening and it is two thirds gone. No exact measurements required.
