Chard, also called Swiss chard, is a leafy powerhouse green that comes in rainbow and regular green varieties. It's a great addition to soups and stir fries and can be used much like spinach or even kale.
A fantastically simple and nutritious vegetable side dish. Rainbow chard is sauteed with onion and fresh ginger, before being drizzled with maple syrup.
This simple vegan dish combines the distinctive, nutty flavour of quinoa with chard, mushrooms and lentils. Dark baby spinach leaves or curly kale work well, too.

Swiss chard is sauteed in butter with garlic and red onion, then seasoned with lemon juice and Parmesan cheese. It makes a delicious side dish to any meal.
Caramelised onions add a sweet note to the red Swiss chard, whilst capers and Kalamata olives lend a salty bite. I serve it with pan fried swordfish.
