For a delicious, no-fuss cooked gammon that is juicy and good, try this slow cooker recipe with only two ingredients!
Everyone I've made this for loves it. Hearty winter soup made with fresh veg, lentils and ham shank (ham hock). The secret is using the water the ham was cooked in as stock for the soup. You can't go wrong with this soup but as with everything you will find you can easily adjust the ingredients to your own taste the more times you make it. If you're making this for a group of people it can easily be made the day before and tastes even better the following day.
Gammon cooked in the slow cooker with orange juice, soy and honey. Served with mashed potato mixed with cabbage and leeks and the sweet juices poured over.
Ham soaked overnight in cider is slowly boiled and then baked with sugar and mustard. Delicious served with cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes.
This recipe has become, hands-down, my favourite ham! This has replaced our Christmas ham and makes the entire house smell amazing! There is nothing like coming home with this ham cooking! Experiment with the amounts of seasonings to your liking. I prefer more nutmeg but some prefer less nutmeg and more maple syrup!
